Sarah Palin and the assault on Merit →
I couldn’t agree more with this article. Sarah Palin seems likable enough, but does being likable qualify her to be Vice President of the United States?

Palin vs. Obama on federal earmarks →
John McCain and Sarah Palin criticized Democrat Barack Obama over the amount of money he has requested for his home state of Illinois, even though Alaska under Palin’s leadership has asked Washington for 10 times more money per citizen for pet projects.

Dude, get rid of the knit wool hat in the summer
It is currently 83 degrees in the summer. Today, I saw some apparently over-privileged “kid” driving a late model Range Rover with the windows down and a winter cap on. First of all, I’m guessing this “kid” is about 25 years old and lives with his parents. That would explain the long, shaggy hair and slacker demeanor which seems to contrast with the expensive car....

I think I get Social Networking
It’s a strange phenomenon that probably says something, I don’t know what, about your personality. I’ve been on Twitter for maybe a year now - go ahead, look - and I came to a realization tonight. I think social networking might be an outlet for people who have difficulty expressing themselves. For some reason it’s easier to say some things to a bunch of people you barely...

McCain says Obama "would rather lose a war than an...
He says Obama supports troop withdrawal only for political reasons, to win votes and the election.  Huh.  So if supporting troop withdrawal really would win votes and the election, wouldn’t that mean that the majority of voters support troop withdrawal? Our government, including the President, is supposed to represent the will of the people.  That’s what democracy is all about....

The True Price of SMS Messages →
I’ve been bitching about the price of text messages for several years. I can now stream Internet radio (via the awesome Pandora!) over my phone and not be charged anything in addition to my standard data plan. This is very bandwidth intensive. However I’m charged extra to send a tiny little text message that takes no bandwidth at all. Check out this article that calculates the true...

Sometimes less is more
It’s Father’s Day and I got the hour I wanted.  Just an hour, laying in the sun alone in my back yard, iPod on, one beer.  That’s all I wanted, just an hour.  Sometimes less is more.

Guitar Time?
I got out my Les Paul which is a sorely neglected guitar.  I have two Gibson guitars and every time I play them I marvel at how great and consistent they are.  Two things wrong for me, though:  I love my Gretsches.  However, they’re so hard to play compared to the Gibsons. (btw,  I’ve been playing my daughter’s 3/4 scale Strat quite a bit and I think I like smaller scale...

The Rap Game
Remember all the hype about the Kanye West and 50 Cent cd’s being released on the same day?  You probably don’t, because you’re an adult, but I still read Rolling Stone… So, 50 and Kanye were in this publicized argument about whose cd would sell more. 50 even said he’d retire if his didn’t sell more. Gosh, it was intense..! So, whatever happened to that?...

It sort of pains me to say it, because they took their shows off iTunes, but NBC’s new video site is really well done. UPDATE: Ok, it’s not just NBC’s site.
