McCain says Obama “would rather lose a war than an election.”

He says Obama supports troop withdrawal only for political reasons, to win votes and the election.  Huh.  So if supporting troop withdrawal really would win votes and the election, wouldn’t that mean that the majority of voters support troop withdrawal?

Our government, including the President, is supposed to represent the will of the people.  That’s what democracy is all about.  McCain seems to be continuing Bush’s “finish what we started no matter what” policy, but his statement is a full admission that it’s not what the majority of voters want.
